I hope it turned out! According to my own googling (since I don't know the answer to this question), the average clove of garlic weighs about 6grams, and (also according to google) there are 28 grams in an ounce. So, if I've done my math right, you should use about 6-7 cloves of garlic for one batch. That may seem like a lot, but I think with a whole pound of cream cheese, it sounds about right...but I love garlic.....

Sorry to be so "thick" but what in the heck is an ounce of garlic?
Can you give that to me in "cloves" or tsp's?
Can't wait to try it!!!The fish and the cream cheese are in the food processer now!
So I'll just figure it out via the dip and lick method this time around.

the restaurant which is haunted is Bowers Harbor Inn..........The Bowery is a restaraunt/pub at the back of the main restaurant which is known for it's spare ribs. Both have good food, although the main restaurant is more expensive and "uppity"...........the bowery is more casual. Bowery is a more family friendly but there usually is quite a long wait in the summer season (call ahead to see about call ahead seating "reservations") The grounds around the restaurant are very pretty - the bay view is beautiful. Also, Bowers Harbor restaurant is konwn for a few specialties: Fish in a Bag, deep fried ice cream.

Let me know how it turns out! Also, see the comments above, apparently they've made some changes to the recipe - it's now dressed up with panko!

My husband been going to the Traverse City for over 20 years for the fall color change, and I've been going for the last 15 years. The Bowery is a must stop for the smoke fish dip. That's all my husband ever talks about. Thanks so much for the recipe. I'll be making it for him and friends this weekend.

I love this salad because it actually tastes better as it ages. Make a large batch and enjoy leftovers for the remainder of the week.
